Stored XSS via unsanitized resume template value
Published Mar 6, 2023 · Updated May 5, 2025
Stored XSS in Resume Builder 3.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through crafted resume data. The rb_save_resume AJAX action accepts a resume_data JSON object whose display.template value is stored without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the script executes when a higher-privileged user opens a page containing the injected resume.
