Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in ResponsiveVoice Text To Speech before 1.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The plugin's shortcode rendering path returns contributor-controlled attributes in page or post output without validation or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, and the script runs in a visitor's browser when the affected content is viewed.
