Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode class attribute
Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Stored XSS in Jules Colle Responsive Gallery Grid before 2.3.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via gallery shortcodes. The gallery renderer places the class attribute into page output without validation or escaping, so a crafted quote and event handler become executable markup. Contributor access is required to save the shortcode, and execution requires another user to interact with the affected gallery page.
