Stored XSS via unchecked shortcode form submission
Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in the Tiempo.com WordPress plugin 0.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript through a forged request. The tc_print_shortcode_form() handler accepts shortcode fields without nonce validation, sanitization, or output escaping, storing attacker-supplied script markup. Exploitation requires an administrator to open an attacker-controlled page while logged in; the saved script then runs for users who view the affected shortcode.
