CVE-2023-0055Network attack vector

Session cookie disclosure via missing Secure attribute

Published Jan 4, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025

Cleartext cookie transmission in pyLoad before 0.5.0b3.dev32 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to capture session cookies over HTTP. The WebUI session setup names pyload_session but leaves SESSION_COOKIE_SECURE unset even when use_ssl enables HTTPS. An authenticated user's browser must later send the cookie over an attacker-observable HTTP connection, exposing the session token without modifying data or interrupting service.
