Authenticated code execution via unsanitized SMTP settings
Published Jan 4, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Code injection in daloRADIUS allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through administrator-controlled SMTP settings. The mail configuration handler accepts SMTP values without validation and writes them into a PHP configuration file that the application later includes. Reaching the write requires a high-privilege operator session and a web-server-writable configuration file; inclusion executes the injected PHP code.
