Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped height attribute
Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Stored XSS in Envigeek Web Services PDF Viewer for WordPress before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in browsers. The pdfviewer shortcode places its height attribute into rendered markup without validation or escaping, so an injected event handler persists with the post. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the shortcode, and execution requires another user to interact with the rendered PDF viewer.
