CVE-2023-0014Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via ambiguous RFC system identity

Published Jan 10, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025

Authentication bypass in SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP and ABAP Platform allows remote attackers to gain illegitimate access through trusted RFC. The trusted RFC framework forms system identity ambiguously from a system ID, allowing captured authentication from one trusting-system exchange to be replayed against a system sharing that identity. Exploitation requires captured trusted-RFC authentication material and a configured trust relationship; successful replay grants the ticket's effective system access.
