CVE-2023-0011

Root command execution via crafted serial AT commands

Published Dec 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 24, 2025

OS command injection in u-blox TOBY-L2 models L200, L201, L210, L220, and L280 allows physically proximate attackers to gain root access. The serial-interface AT command parser inadequately validates crafted commands and passes injected operating system commands into a privileged execution environment. A wired serial connection to the modem, or control of software that can send serial commands, is required; exploitation permits system-file access, module behavior changes, and service interruption.
