CVE-2022-50998Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Application crash via bundled libxml2 parsing flaws

Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026

Memory corruption in Nokogiri before 1.13.9 allows remote attackers to crash CRuby applications via crafted XML input. Bundled libxml2 2.9.14 clears dictionary-backed entity content when breaking reference cycles and performs overflow-prone arithmetic under XML_PARSE_HUGE. Exposure requires the CRuby implementation to use Nokogiri's packaged libraries and an application to parse attacker-controlled XML; consequences are bounded to memory corruption and process crashes.
