CVE-2022-50930Public exploit

LocalSystem code execution via unquoted service path

Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026

Privilege escalation in Emerson PAC Machine Edition 9.80 allows local users to execute code as LocalSystem through TrapiServer startup. The automatic TrapiServer service registers its executable under C:\Program Files (x86) without surrounding quotes, allowing Windows to resolve an attacker-planted executable from an earlier path component. Exploitation requires write access to that component and a service start or system reboot; success grants full LocalSystem execution.
