Remote code execution via upload path traversal
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in e107 3.2.1 allows remote authenticated administrators to execute PHP through Media Manager imports. The e107_admin/image.php import action accepts an attacker-controlled upload_caption containing traversal segments and saves a remote PHP payload outside the media directory. Administrative access is required; successful exploitation writes attacker-controlled PHP into an executable parent directory and runs it with web-server privileges.
