Arbitrary file read via annotation paths

Local file inclusion in mPDF 7.0 allows attackers to read arbitrary system files through crafted annotation file parameters. The annotation handler accepts attacker-controlled file and content attribute paths and embeds the referenced local file in the generated PDF. Exploitation requires an application to pass crafted annotation markup to mPDF and return the generated document, exposing files readable by PHP.
