Kernel reference leak via invalid ERDMA mapping
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
Reference-count leakage in the ERDMA mmap handler in Linux allows local users to retain kernel mapping entries via invalid mapping types. In erdma_mmap, rdma_user_mmap_entry_get() increments the entry reference before a type switch, but the default error return omits rdma_user_mmap_entry_put(). Reaching the flaw requires an ERDMA user context and an mmap request whose entry type reaches the default case; public sources report no resulting crash or hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
