CVE-2022-50872

Service interruption via unreleased clock reference

Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025

Resource leak in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt service on ARM OMAP2+ systems by consuming kernel memory. realtime_counter_init obtains the sys_clk resource with clk_get but returns without clk_put, leaving the clock reference allocated. Reachability is limited to ARM OMAP2+ configurations, and accumulated references can deplete kernel memory until availability is lost.
