Local system crash via uninitialized AUX channel
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel allows local users to crash affected systems during boot through an early IT6505 HPD interrupt. In it6505_i2c_probe, DRM bridge registration can precede DisplayPort AUX-channel initialization, so the interrupt path accesses a null AUX pointer. Reachability requires the IT6505 bridge driver and matching display hardware; the bounded consequence is a kernel crash, not data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
