CVE-2022-50832

Local service interruption via unreleased transmit buffers

Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025

Memory leak in the wilc1000 driver in affected Linux kernel versions allows local users to exhaust kernel memory through packet transmission. The wilc_mac_xmit() path returns NETDEV_TX_OK when a socket buffer names a different network device but fails to release that buffer. Reachability requires local packet transmission through a wilc1000 interface; repetition consumes kernel memory and can interrupt service.
