Local resource exhaustion via missing mmap release
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Resource leakage in Linux kernel 5.17 allows local users to retain HNS RDMA mmap entry references through mapping requests. The hns_roce_mmap path acquires an entry through rdma_user_mmap_entry_get_pgoff() but omits the matching rdma_user_mmap_entry_put(). Access to an HNS RDMA device is required; repeated mappings consume unreleased references, but the terminal failure mode is undisclosed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
