Unspecified impact via firmware length integer overflows
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Integer overflows in the Marvell OcteonTX crypto driver in Linux 5.7 and later allow attackers to cause unspecified impact via crafted firmware. The process_tar_file() and ucode_load() paths multiply the firmware-controlled code_length by two and round the resulting size without first bounding the arithmetic. Exploitation requires a firmware file with an attacker-controlled code_length; the Linux CVE team has not specified the resulting impact.
