CVE-2022-50757

Kernel memory corruption via unflushed CAMSS buffers

Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel CAMSS driver allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via local V4L2 streaming ioctls. The video_start_streaming() error path leaves received buffers on output->pending_bufs when media_pipeline_start() fails, so later reclamation frees objects that remain linked. Access to a Qualcomm CAMSS /dev/video node is required; queue reuse can disclose or overwrite kernel memory or panic the host.
