CVE-2022-50754

Local service interruption via AppArmor memory leak

Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025

Memory leak in Linux kernel AppArmor allows local users to exhaust kernel memory by triggering failed transactional policy writes. The multi_transaction_new function allocates transaction t, but its copy_from_user failure path returns EFAULT without releasing that allocation. Local low-privilege access to the AppArmor transaction interface is required; repeated failures consume kernel memory and can interrupt the host.
