Service interruption via efct initialization memory leak
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Memory leak in the efct SCSI driver in Linux allows local users to consume kernel memory during failed device initialization. The efct_device_init() error path omits efct_scsi_tgt_driver_exit() when Fibre Channel transport registration fails, leaving the target template allocation unreleased. Reachability requires local access and the efct initialization failure path; the documented consequence is availability loss without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
