Memory-safety fault via double release during initialization
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Use-after-free in vidtv bridge initialization in the Linux kernel allows attackers to trigger stale memory access during device probing. The error paths in vidtv_bridge_dvb_init call release functions after failed demultiplexer initialization has already cleaned up the same objects. Reachability requires an initialization failure in the vidtv test-driver stack; the public record demonstrates a KASAN-detected fault but not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
