CVE-2022-50724

Memory consumption via unreleased regulator supply references

Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025

Resource leak in the Linux kernel regulator core allows attackers to consume memory through repeated regulator registration failures. The regulator_register() error path leaves rdev->supply referenced after regulator_resolve_supply() assigns it through set_supply(), because regulator_put() is not called. The leak requires a regulator registration failure after supply resolution; repeated failures accumulate unreleased device and supply objects.
