Kernel memory leak via failed device registration

Memory leak in the vdpa_sim component of the Linux kernel allows attackers to consume kernel memory during failed module probes. The vdpasim_net_init() and vdpasim_blk_init() error paths omit put_device() after device_register() fails, retaining the dev_set_name() allocation. Reachability requires a module probe plus a registration failure; published evidence shows a 16-byte leak per failure and does not establish unprivileged control.
