CVE-2022-50687Public exploit

Application crash via oversized FTP password

Published Dec 22, 2025 · Updated Dec 22, 2025

Buffer overflow in the FTP source password field in CobianSoft Cobian Backup 11.2.0.582 allows local users to crash the application. The FTP task dialog copies an 800-byte password into an insufficiently bounded destination without checking the input length. Exploitation requires local access to the Gravity user interface and pasting the crafted string into a new task's FTP password field; the demonstrated consequence is an application crash.
