CVE-2022-50676

Networking hang via socket-lock deadlock

Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Deadlock in the Linux kernel RDS TCP transport from 4.8 through 6.0.2 allows attackers to hang affected networking operations. The rds_tcp_reset_callbacks() path calls cancel_delayed_work_sync() while holding a socket lock that rds_send_xmit() can attempt to acquire, creating a circular wait. Triggering requires the RDS TCP callback-reset and send paths to overlap; the published record does not identify an attacker privilege or network-position gate.
