CVE-2022-50666Network attack vector

Remote kernel compromise via SIW QP use-after-free

Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel SIW RDMA driver allows remote attackers to compromise the kernel through a peer TCP disconnect. siw_qp_destroy returns while SIW still holds QP references, letting delayed siw_cm_work_handler processing dereference the QP after RDMA core frees it. An unauthenticated peer must reach a listening SIW endpoint and win a retryable teardown race; success enables kernel memory disclosure or writes, control-flow hijacking, or a kernel crash.
