CVE-2022-50649

Kernel crash via unchecked charger-status index

Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

An out-of-bounds read in affected Linux kernels from 4.19 through 6.0.2 allows local users to crash the kernel via the ADP5061 driver. In adp5061_get_chg_type(), a three-bit charger-status value ranging from zero to seven directly indexes the four-entry adp5061_chg_type array. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and an active ADP5061 power-supply device; the documented consequence is loss of availability.
