Kernel fault via unchecked workqueue allocation
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel cw2015 battery driver allows attackers to trigger a kernel fault during device probing. cw_bat_probe() passes a NULL result from create_singlethread_workqueue() through queue_delayed_work() until __queue_work() dereferences wq->flags. Triggering the fault requires a cw2015 device probe and workqueue-allocation failure; public sources do not establish attacker control of either condition.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
