Kernel resource leak via unreleased node references
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Reference leakage in Linux 4.12 and later OMAP DSS code allows attackers to consume kernel resources during port setup or teardown. dss_init_ports() and __dss_uninit_ports() fail to call of_node_put() for references returned by of_graph_get_port_by_id() on failure or after use. Reachability requires the OMAP DSS device-tree port path; the published record documents neither an unprivileged trigger nor a demonstrated crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
