Local denial of service via module-init memory leak

Memory leakage in Linux kernel 4.14 and later branches before their listed fixes allows local users to exhaust kernel memory. test_firmware_init() duplicates test_fw_config->name, but its misc_register() failure path returns without freeing that allocation. Triggering the condition requires low-privileged local access and repeated module-load failures; availability is affected without reported data disclosure or modification.
