Local denial of service via hotplug callback leak
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Denial of service in the Linux kernel SMMUv3 PMU driver allows local users to interrupt service through a CPU-hotplug event. The arm_smmu_pmu_init() failure path leaves the callback registered when platform_driver_register() fails instead of removing its CPU-hotplug state. Reachability requires an ARM SMMUv3 PMU, a driver-registration failure, and a subsequent CPU-hotplug event; invoking the stale callback can interrupt the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
