CVE-2022-50503

Local system crash via missing MTD resource

Published Oct 4, 2025 · Updated Oct 4, 2025

NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel LPDDR2-NVM driver allows local users to crash the system during device probing. The lpddr2_nvm_probe function passes add_range to resource_size after platform_get_resource can return NULL, so a missing first memory resource is dereferenced. Reachability requires low-privileged local access and an ARM kernel with the LPDDR2-NVM driver probing a device whose first memory resource is absent.
