CVE-2022-50476

Service degradation via interrupt-unsafe skb freeing

Published Oct 4, 2025 · Updated Oct 4, 2025

Resource-management error in Linux kernel ntb_netdev allows local users to degrade network performance on affected AMD systems. The TX and RX completion callbacks call interrupt-unsafe dev_kfree_skb() when AMD PTDMA completes DMA work in hard-interrupt context. The exposed configuration produces kernel warnings and roughly tenfold lower TCP/IP throughput, without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
