Service interruption via leaked LPBFIFO interrupt allocation
Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Oct 1, 2025
Resource leak in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt service through a PowerPC MPC52xx LPBFIFO probe failure. The probe error path requests an IRQ but returns without calling free_irq(), leaving the interrupt allocation behind. Reachability requires a PowerPC 52xx system that loads the LPBFIFO driver and encounters the probe error path, with availability as the only reported impact.
