CVE-2022-50430

Local service interruption via invalid kernel sleep context

Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Oct 1, 2025

Improper task-state handling in Linux 3.0 through 6.1.2 allows local users to interrupt kernel service through VUB300 SDIO IRQ activity. sdio_irq_thread leaves the current task in TASK_INTERRUPTIBLE before vub300_enable_sdio_irq takes a mutex, so mutex_lock executes in a non-running task context. Reachability requires an attached VUB300 USB SDIO/MMC device and local low-privilege access; the resulting kernel warning can interrupt service.
