Kernel crash via prematurely released decoder buffer

A NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux MediaTek video decoder allows local users to crash the kernel through a decode error. In mtk_vdec_worker(), the latency error path finishes the mem2mem job and releases its destination buffer before the core thread marks that buffer complete. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and a MediaTek latency-decoder configuration; the documented consequence is a kernel crash, not data access or code execution.
