CVE-2022-50371

Local service interruption via sleeping LED callback

Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Improper locking in the Qualcomm LPG LED driver in Linux 5.19 allows local users to interrupt service through LED brightness changes. The lpg_brightness_set callback acquires a mutex and sleeps even though the LED core invokes brightness_set callbacks from nonblocking atomic contexts. The reachable condition requires supported Qualcomm LPG hardware and an atomic LED trigger such as heartbeat; it produces invalid-context kernel execution and interrupts service.
