CVE-2022-50363Network attack vector

Remote service interruption via atomic-context allocation

Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Denial of service in Linux kernel 6.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt the system through TCP traffic on configured sockmap sockets. On the sk_psock_verdict_recv TCP receive path, alloc_sk_msg uses a sleep-capable GFP_KERNEL allocation while rcu_read_lock forbids sleeping, triggering an invalid-context fault. Reachability requires an administrator-created SOCKMAP or SOCKHASH socket with a stream or skb verdict program; the documented consequence is availability loss.
