CVE-2022-50340

Kernel warning via incorrect driver cleanup

Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025

Reachable assertion in the Linux kernel 4.13 through 6.1.1 allows local users to interrupt service during vimc module loading. The vimc_init error path calls platform_driver_unregister on an unregistered driver instead of unregistering vimc_pdev. Reachability requires vimc module initialization and a platform-driver registration failure; the published trace shows a kernel warning.
