CVE-2022-50309

Service interruption via leaked device-tree reference

Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025

Resource-management error in Linux 4.1 through 6.0.2 allows local users to interrupt service through the Xilinx VIPP driver. In xvip_graph_dma_init, of_get_child_by_name increments the ports node reference, but the function omits of_node_put after child traversal and leaves the reference held. The path is limited to kernels that include and initialize the Xilinx Video IP pipeline driver, and accumulated references can exhaust kernel resources without disclosing or modifying data.
