CVE-2022-50294

Service interruption via unreleased initialization command buffer

Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025

Memory leak in the Linux kernel Libertas Wi-Fi driver allows local users to cause a service interrupt during adapter initialization. On kfifo_alloc() failure, lbs_init_adapter() returns without freeing the command buffer allocated earlier in the initialization path. Reachability requires local low-privilege access, the Libertas driver, and an adapter initialization allocation failure; the reported consequence is availability loss.
