CVE-2022-50275

Service interruption via leaked ACPI table allocations

Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025

Memory leakage in the Linux kernel Radeon driver allows local users to interrupt service through Radeon graphics initialization. radeon_acpi_vfct_bios() obtains the ACPI VFCT table but omits acpi_put_table() after reading the BIOS, retaining the table allocation after initialization. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a system whose Radeon driver reads BIOS data from an ACPI VFCT table; exhaustion can stop normal service.
