Service interruption via SoCFPGA clock-init memory leak
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Memory leak in the Linux kernel 5.1 before 6.2 allows local users to interrupt service through SoCFPGA clock-initialization errors. In drivers/clk/socfpga/clk-gate.c, socfpga_gate_init returns without freeing socfpga_clk when ops allocation fails and without freeing ops when clock registration fails. Reachability requires an SoCFPGA clock-initialization error; public records identify no reliable user-controlled trigger.
