Local service interruption via device-node reference leak
Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Reference-count leak in Linux on ARM OMAP systems allows local users to interrupt service during clock initialization. In pdata_quirks_init_clocks(), a loop calls of_find_node_by_name() without releasing the returned device-node reference with of_node_put(), retaining a reference during clock setup. Reachability requires an affected ARM OMAP kernel and local access; published evidence identifies availability loss but no repeatable trigger or broader impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
