CVE-2022-50141

Local service interruption via device-node refcount leak

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Resource leakage in the Linux kernel eSDHC driver allows local users to interrupt service by repeatedly invoking MMC signal-voltage switching. esdhc_signal_voltage_switch calls of_find_matching_node, which increments a device-node reference count, but fails to call of_node_put after using the returned node. The affected path requires the sdhci-of-esdhc driver and local low-privilege access, and the documented consequence is limited to availability.
