CVE-2022-50127

Local denial of service via uninitialized spinlock

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux kernel RDMA/rxe driver allows local users to trigger a kernel oops during failed queue-pair creation. The rxe_create_qp() error path can enter rxe_qp_do_cleanup() before rxe_qp_init_req() initializes the queue-pair spinlocks, so cleanup accesses an uninitialized lock. Local access sufficient to create an RDMA queue pair is required; the documented consequence is an availability-impacting kernel oops.
