CVE-2022-50124

Availability loss via leaked device-node reference

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux kernel allows local users to cause availability loss through the ASoC device probe on MediaTek MT6797 systems. In mt6797_mt6351_dev_probe, of_parse_phandle() increments a device-tree node reference that the driver fails to release with of_node_put() after use. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and the MediaTek MT6797 ASoC machine driver; the published record identifies no specific crash or hang mode.
