Kernel memory corruption via cleanup underflow
Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in the Linux kernel allows local users to corrupt kernel memory during SJA1105 devlink-region setup. In sja1105_setup_devlink_regions(), a failed dsa_devlink_region_create() call leaves the cleanup index unchanged, so the post-decrement loop accesses priv->regions[-1]. Reachability requires the SJA1105 DSA driver and a devlink-region creation failure; public sources establish memory corruption but no reliable user-controlled trigger.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
